Traveling with the NYEA students all over the city and especially in Brooklyn, we have visited so many different types of museums and outdoor places. Last Friday, for the first time, we encountered a place so different it was beyond our curiosity. The Morbid Anatomy Museum is a small place full of amazing and unusual taxidermy animals. It’s true! The exhibitions were on the first floor, where a small but nice coffee shop makes the selling of human teeth seem a little a less strange . The second floor is really where most of the taxidermy animals are, forming the actual abnormalities of the museum. The “kitty wedding,” tiny cats dressed in fancy clothes as a bride and groom, are the center of attention. Other taxidermy animals show abnormalities of nature, like a cow, a chicken with two heads, and an impala with four horns. The exhibition with hamsters playing poker or having tea time was hilarious. You should definitely stop by and also- don’t forget to shop at their store for very unusual artifacts.
