Students with us in 2016 Summer

New York City is fascinating in all the seasons of the year, but especially so in the summer. With the city’s immense variety of parks and summer activities, you could never be bored here. There are a large number of outdoor concerts and various summer events that take place throughout the city each year. The average summer temperatures range from the 80s to 90s F (20s to 30s C), while the nearby Atlantic Ocean often brings a certain amount of “air-conditioning” to our islands.

Here are some suggestions for free or low-cost activities that you could enjoy during a New York summer: Picnics in the parks (Central Park, Bryant Park, Prospect Park, and many more), the Boardwalk and beach at Coney Island (summer Friday nights have a spectacular fireworks display), cool museums on hot days, strolling on the High Line and the Brooklyn Bridge, and many special events.
Here at New York English Academy’s new location in Manhattan’s Financial District, we can give you a lot of information about activities around our neighborhood: the South Street Seaport, the World Trade Center, the Statue of Liberty, Governors Island are a few examples.

Summer Experience : Mr.Ernest Czizek from France

My name is Ernest, I live in France and I have a job as a social worker. I want to tell my “linguistic” story: It began in 2012 when I was 53 years old and wondered if I wasn't too old to start learning American English conversation.
I wanted to be able to speak English as I travel, so I decided to seek  a school that would be neither too expensive nor too large. Even more, I had a dream which was to discover New York, so I came to New York English Academy.

On every vacation, I have come back to this same school. Why? Because I've found what I was looking for: a warm welcome, progressive teaching, and especially the teachers who met my needs.

But I want to tell you more about New York English Academy. It's more than a school. It's a beautiful, amazing experience for me, because I meet people who came from many countries who help me understand other cultures and appreciate different ways of thinking. I have even tried to learn few Japanese words (outside of class)! The teachers at New York English Academy help us to improve our English conversation and they use American culture for that: visits to museums, parks, and many others interesting New York places. It's a wonderful experience being immersed in American culture and New York is a great place for that, especially since I experience New Yorkers as welcoming and pleasant. Discovering New York is like living out a dream!
