Due to the threat of thunderstorms, the students decided to plan for a rainy day. First we went to an old styled American diner, commonly known as a “greasy spoon,” where the students ate large-portioned classics such as meatloaf, Belgian waffles and chicken parmigiana. Then we went sought shelter from the rain in a downstairs game hall and bar called Fat Cat. The students competed against one another in Foosball, discovered shuffleboard and then went on to play billiards. Shooting pool turned out to be a learning experience as some students taught other first-timers the rules and how to hold the cue sticks. It turned out to be quite an afternoon despite the gloomy weather.
