MOMA’s PS1 September 28, 2012

A former public elementary school became an annex of the Museum of Modern Art in 2000.  PC TECH students visited this museum on this rainy Friday.  There was an extensive art-book fair going on, so the usual collection of ultra-modern art was not exhibited.  However, it was a good place to know about for those who want to visit in their free time.

Students often ask about the people who have lived in the Americas from long before the European colonists arrived.  This small but fascinating museum in a very historic building – The National Museum of the American Indian – offers a number of fascinating exhibits illustrating the history and cultures of the people of the First Nations in North and South America.

This Friday, our students enjoyed a relaxing and informative visit in an uncrowded place in downtown Manhattan.
